Learn how the RTA/CTA Transit Benefit Program can help employees reduce their commuting costs by using pre-tax income to pay their fares. The program is valid on CTA, Metra, Pace, South Shore Railroad and vanpools.
RTA/CTA Transit Benefit
When you participate in the RTA/CTA Transit Benefit Program, your company and employees can purchase CTA Transit Cards, Chicago Cards and/or RTA Transit Checks and have them delivered to your company.
Third Party Transit Benefit
In addition to the RTA/CTA Program, other companies also offer their own Transit Benefit program. To locate other providers, conduct an Internet search of "pre-tax benefit services."

Chicago Card
Chicago Card is a farecard that can be reloaded with cash at rail station vending machines or off-site touch-n-go devices.
Chicago Card Plus
Chicago Card Plus is a farecard with its balance kept in an online account. Payment can be made using a credit card or transit benefit dollars only.

Pace Internet Online Store and Ticket-By-Mail programs not only save you time, they can also save you money.
Pace Ticket-By-Mail Referral Program
Ticket-by-Mail customers can save as much as $5 off a pass/ticket purchase by referring new customers to the program.
Student Passes
CTA U-Pass
Full-time students at participating colleges and universities can use their U-Pass to ride CTA buses and trains anytime, any day, anywhere during the school term.
Pace Student Haul Pass
The Student Haul Pass is available for purchase for $25 monthly from September through May. The Student Summer Haul Pass is available for purchase for $40 beginning in May and is valid for all of June, July, and August. The Student Haul Pass allows unlimited rides on Pace service at any time on any day of the week, including weekends. Student fares paid with cash or the 10-Ride plus ticket are valid only on school days between the hours of 6:00 am and 8:00 pm.
Pace Campus Connection
The Campus Connection college student pass is valid for an entire semester (5 months). This Pace-only pass is valid every day of the week at any time of the day. Passes are valid for five months, August 1 through December 31 or January 1 through May 31. Please note that this pass is not valid on the CTA.
